Why when they're up by 8 1/2 games am I sweating it as hard as if this was game 7 of the series?

  2.  # 92

Ohhh my gosh. Those last two innings almost gave me a heart attack, a million times over. So glad that's done.

Finally, a decision for Wolf - and a well deserved win, no less.

The fat lady may be gargling, but she ain't sang yet!

She just hit a high "C", and right on key!

And it sure wasn't the C in CUB(E)S!

I just realized that, after about seven no-decisions, Wolf finally gets a win.

I was, too, but I think 90% of it was because this series is going to mean ENORMOUS bragging rights for me if we win, because I have a super douchebag Cubs fan friend who will not shutup with the Dodger bashing. I'm reserving my smack talk until the series is over, so I seem like the bigger person...and so I don't have to eat my words just in case something goes wrong.

But man. My heart is still pounding.

Great minds think alike, but I gotta learn how to type faster than fifteen "oops" per minute.

Somehow I just can't envision an alleged "bigger person" referring to someone else as a "super douchebag."

I keep getting the same trashing from my friends - they all say the Dodgers are winning because the West sucks. Of course their record againt the Marlins, Mets, Phils and Cubs thus far is even better.

Kids took us to dinner, but the game was on - God love the MLB Network! Made a serious ass of myself when Tron punched out Scales and Fox. I doubt that Paula and Tony take us to dinner, ever again. Great win, great win!

I'll play the radio on Southern stations because Southern Belles are Hell at night...

Hush, you. You'd understand if you knew him.

Also! FYI, he just deleted his last two smack-talking status messages on Facebook where he bashed the Dodgers and glorified the Cubs. Mmm that feels good.

This game made an overdone steak at Outback well worth the effort to cut and chew the beast. Got a great glare from my Gintfan kids when I did my happy dance in a full restaurant. Of course, the four of us Dodger fans were singing the praises of Tron as I tipped the waitress. She was also a Dodger fan, I hope she liked the Benjamin I dropped on her. Gotta take care of the Blue Crew.

Steak stunk, but waitress was great. She took the steak back twice and then brought the manager by our table and he paid for our dinner. She earned her tip, she didn't have to do diddly. I have seen that happen way too often.

Well, that's two in a row that made certain muscles involuntarily slam shut. I'm getting too old for this stress. KB must be apoplectic about now.

But, I'll take that 1/2-game and go with it.

My resting heart rate was back into double digits within an hour of Tron striking out Fox in the ninth.

I think that goes with the past 21 years of history. We could be up by 30 games on August 28th, and I'll still be sweating these games out.
