Looks like I didn't miss anything, except maybe Peyton Manning and the Colts losing (I always like to see the top dog get knocked off). Let me know when the NY Giants are back in the Super Bowl. Otherwise, I see the Super Bowl as "The Avatar" of televised sports - lots of glitz, lots of press, pretty to look at, expensive to produce, but ultimately about as satisfying as a video game. As for The Who, I prefer to remember them as they were, not as they are.

Actually, strip all of that away and it was a pretty good game. Only one red flag challenge (which changed the entire face of the game) and very few penalties. The zebras stayed out of it and let them play and it was a war for the whole game.

My wish (and curse) for another NY Giants Super Bowl: Absolutely! The year AFTER the Eagles win it all.

The halftime show at least provided me with a prop for one of my oldest hackneyed jokes that I pull on the kid all the time.

When they first started playing the Redhead asked me (we were listening more than watching at that point) - "Who is that?"

    My response: "Exactly".

I was disappointed. The commercials, with a few exceptions, were pretty blah.

Well who the fuck are you?

Willie, was it something I said? I was merely reflecting what has turned out to be a nearly universal opinion... that "The Who" represents the tipping point for '70's era rock bands... I'm cynical enough to point out the "coincidence" that both the CBS network and NFL prominently use Who songs in their broadcasts... which may have at least contributed to their selection in the first place... Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed The Who... back in my high school days'. When we get to the point that Roger Daltrey's hair has a decided blue hue (not from hair dye... but from age?), we have reached the true "Jump-the-Shark" moment in Super Bowl programing...!

(Sorry you found my opinion so offensive.)

It's 8 a.m. in Louisiana. Wonder how many people showed up to work on time or without a massive hangover?

My kid said the same thing this morning. Mardi Gras celebrations got an early start.

Yeah, the game was one of the better Super Bowls in recent memory, along with the year the Titans came up just short. And, yes, the commercials were quite mundane. Did the government really feel it necessary to spend $2.5M on a really crappy census ad? :shamed:

Next year the Super Bowl will be in Dallas (Arlingon) in the new 100K seat Cowboys Stadium. It would be nice from my perspective to see America's (former?) Team, the Dallas Cowboys win it. All they need is a quarterback like Schaub instead of that worthless Romo.

You and the Redhead would get along fine. She's a huge Cowboy fan (for no apparent reason) but she hates Romo with a passion.

I like the Jets, next year. Sanchez will be a year older, a healthy Leon Washington and I wouldn't be surprised if Woody Johnson spent what it took to get a great wide receiver. If Edwards' price comes down, I could see him coming back, but I would not be shocked if they spent the dividend on whichever stud receiver gets the unrestricted tag because of the ending of the CBA.

The Jets already have a great defense, but if they can get some help for Darrell Revis in the defensive backfield, they will be dangerous.

The Kid came down a few minutes prior (the rat downloads it early) and said it would be epic. Fits the description aptly.

Already watched last night's episode. Just about came out of my chair! We're finally getting up to speed - gettin' good. And is it just me, or will the dude who played Sark in Alias always be Sark, no matter what show he's on?

Is Arthur Bryants not THE BEST?? We went in 2006. I have never had any BBQ better anywhere and we had both Texas BBQ in 2008 and Memphis BBQ last October. Sorry: AB is the BEST. We bought the sauce and rub and took it home and, guess what? It isn't the same! They are holding back on something (some say the secret ingredient is pickle juice; others say celery seed.) I don't know, but I'll go out of my way if I'm within 200 miles of KC to eat there again!!

Welp. Blizzard warning for NYC. Up to 16 inches by tonight. Which sucks. There's a group of a dozen of us students that go to NYC each week for our internships, and all our buses were canceled today. Great.

On the bright side, it's the most epic snow day ever. ZERO obligations 'til class on Monday for all of us.

I would be remiss if I didn't say this here; HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY!

Don't ask her age, it is now considered a secret.
