As I noted in "BAM Almighty", that thread had gotten so large that, at least for the time being, the new digs couldn't handle opening it. So, I am starting it over with this one. Why "The Return of the BAM???" Because, given that we no longer have whisper function, the post count per page might be more consistant, meaning that the BAM might be back!
For those not aware of that particular time-waster, some of the original S&Mers, most notably Foxxy, Azul and Oscar, would try to be the first to post on each new page and, if successful, would post "BAM!" It then became a combination of individual accolades ('zul became the undisputed King of BAMs) and a grudge match between the ladies (the "Cooties"
and the guys (or "Icky Boyz"
The grudge was generally felt by the Cooties as the Ickys pretty much cleaned their clocks in BAMs over time.
Anyway, no multiple postings to get to the bottom. Rude photos to declare your BAM supremacy are not only allowed, they are damned near de rigueur.
If it turns out nobody is interested in any of this silliness anymore (after all, our best and most prolific bammers have blown us off) or it turns out the new digs don't allow bamming to work, kindly disregard all of the above.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Grrr I am irritated with my Friday night right now. My friends and I were just out at dinner at some dumb Hollywood hoity toity crappy restaurant, and it was OK, but then we all decided to go to the Edison in downtown for drinks. Except ALL of us went to dinner straight from work, so we all had a different car (there were 6 of us) and another friend on the way to join. So after much discussion over how to deal with this, since all of us wanted to drink plenty, we had a game plan and went off to conquer the night.
Then the friend who was on his way to join us -- a pivotal part of our game plan -- switched things up at the worst possible moment, leaving my best friend and I stuck at our respective homes (30 miles away from each other), and doing nothing totally alone tonight, while everyone else is out partying it up.
So, so irritated. Arrgh. I want to throw something.
Icky Boyz and Cooties? I do not remember that stuff. That kind of sounds pretty silly but I hope it is fun. Chris took me to see UP. I loved it! It was cute, kind of sad and made me cry at the end. We were chaperones tonight. Drake and his girlfriend, Kelsey, went to see the new Ben Stiller movie and we did not feel like driving back and forth so we saw UP. The only bad thing was the place was full of kids who could not shut up. One of them kept putting his hand on Chris's shoulder and Chris told the kid if he wanted to keep his hand he better stay in his seat and stop bothering him. Chris did not say it that nice.
Waiting for Katja to get home. Her boyfriend broke up with her and she is pretty sad. I just want to make sure she gets home. He got mad at Katja because she did not want to have sex with him. So he dropped her at a restaurant and she called Chris to pick her up. He was steaming when he left. Chris knows where he works and I hope Chris does not do something stupid.
Kind of a fun day. Layed around in my pjs to 3 in the afternoon. Just did not feel like doing anything except watching tv and messing around with the dogs. I do not know what Chris did all day, but he was gone for like five hours. I think he was helping Anthony fix their bathroom. They have leaks everywhere. I know they went to home depot because I found three receipts from there on the counter in the kitchen. I will have to check to see what they bought.
I did not know it until just a few minutes ago that today was 25th aniversary of Chris and that bitch's divorce. I really hate her and I am glad she does not call here all the time wanting Chris to fix her problems. Her big mistake letting Chris get away because she is a slut. I hope she does not bother Chris on his birthday like she always does. It ruins his good time and she makes a big deal about remembering it. BFD! He said she never remembered his birthday when they were married, but now she can. Big deal!
Okay, Chris and Katja are home and by sound of Katja crying, I know she is pretty unhappy. See you later and I love the way the place looks. Very nice whoever dr. Typer is.

Dog woke me up a half an hour early. Little piece of crap. He wants back in from the back yard right now. It certainly not cold, but he can cool his jets out there for awhile so I don't go all "Torgy and the cat" on him.
Headache, too, so that doesn't help.
BUT, AGod won it for us last night. Because it's the Phillies, I can't do my "wocka wocka" victory dance around the house, but what I CAN do is "accidentally" grab the wrong hat when I go to work ("What? This isn't my Apple cap? It's BLUE? Silly me. Sorry."

The Easternmost in Quality...the Westernmost in Flavor!!63º and partly cloudy; high of 85º today.
1st day of my weekend.
Tomorrow will be the less fun day: I'll take toes to the doctor for her six week checkup (which should clear her to drive, among other improvements), then we have to go to the DMV and register both cars, then I have to go to the car dealership to get my car serviced so that I can go get it inspected. While I'm at it, it needs a bath really badly.
On the plus, WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) will start in San Francisco. This means an Apple Keynote address, allegedly to be given by VP Phil Schiller, though I (along with the rest of the Apple fandom) will be waiting to see if Big Steve makes an appearance. This will be the next "Big Deal" presentation, possibly discussing things like iPhone, the next OS X upgrade ("Snow Leopard"
and who knows what else? As always, Apple employees are kept as in the dark as the public (and rightly so--we are all blabbermouths.) The keynote will start at 1pm EDT (10am for you correct-coasters) so I'll be interested in that.
So, I'll likely mow the lawns today and maybe wash the cars. Beyond that, I'm in a grilling state of mind, so we'll see where I go with that one.

Blaster,
Went and saw our Chargers get beat by Capo Valley last night in the CIF Championship game at the Big A Hole. They lost 1-0 on a bottom of 6 solo shot into the right field seats -- kid crushed it! Great game otherwise. Very well pitched, but a couple of bad calls and some odd coaching killed a couple potential rallies for us.
Cest la vie! Still proud to be a Charger!
By the way, Dave Tallman is still coaching as an assistant on the Varsity team. He was my brother's JV coach back in '72, and then mine in '84. 38 years with Edison! And a great guy on top of it!
America's Camping DirectoryHi, everyone! Busy night for me. Watched the PPV and then Bridezillas. I do not know where they find women like this, but it is total fun. I could have been a Bridezilla, but I was overwelmed by the whole thing. I think Chris and my mom took care of most everything. All I had to do was fit into my dress, not trip and fall and say I do.
Chris made me wear that ugly pink Dodger cap. Why does he get a pretty green one and I get this stupid pink one? I am going to buy me a green one because he says I cannot. Chris dragged out the Ronco rotissrie thing for a pork roast tonight. It turned out pretty good. I forgot we even had one, but we do. I think we have used it five times in ten years.
Another iron IV tomorrow, plus I get to meet my new OB/GYN. Whoopie! I know she is going to want get me in those stupid stirup things. Most embarrassing thing in the world. Chris thinks I am being silly, but I do not see him sitting there hanging out where everyone can get a free show.
Katja is still depressed. She did not even want to go out for breakfast this morning and she never passes on that. Drake and her ended up going to see a movie this evening and she is happier, but still kind of down. I guess her ex boyfriend said some pretty mean things to her and then called her stupid and ugly. When Chris came back with her, both me and Drake had to talk him out of going to find the boy and thumping him in on the head. Anthony knows the boy and he says he will take care of things. I hope he does not do something stupid.
Going to go snuggle with Chris. He is watching Ice Road Truckers. I am getting hooked also. It is pretty exciting and a lot of fun to watch. Good night all, see you tomorrow.

The two of you probably won't believe it, but I was rooting for Edison last night. I almost went. Steve Lambright (the varsity coach) taught the kid how to pitch and was his instructor until he started high school. He really tried to get him to go to Edison, and to this day, the kid regrets that he didn't. He might still be pitching somewhere if he had.....

66º and cloudy; high of 81º with some possible toonderboomies tonight.
Yesterday was pretty much the do nothing day I wanted. Had the Dodgers won, it would have been close to idyllic, but it was still nice. My only exertions were a trip to the store for some beverages for dinner, and then grilling up a couple of moos.
Today, on the other hand, is a different story. I'll be driving toes to Center City to her surgeon for her six week checkup. They should be taking her off her blood thinners and, as a result, she should be cleared to drive.
The problem, of course, as I mentioned last week, is that her car (the one I've been driving for six weeks) has an expired registration. Three reasons I've been driving her car instead of mine:
1- It's registration was valid (or so I thought) while my car's registration also expired;
2- My car needs service so that, after it gets registered again, it can get safety inspected;
3- Her car is nicer than mine and has about 1/16th the mileage.
So, after the doctor, we go to the DMV to get both cars re-registered. Then I take my car over to the Saturn dealership (yes, it's still there. For now.) and get the oil changed and a tail light replaced. If I have time, I will then take it over and get it inspected.
Icky day off. ON THE OTHER HAND, toes has made my heart skip a beat (even more than usual) by suggesting that, while we're there, we might look at a replacement for my car. My car is okay and it runs well enough, but it has over 65,000 miles on it and isn't a car I'm thrilled at the prospect of driving to California with. We saw a newer Ion with only about 4500 miles on it on the website, so if we can get enough trade-in for the old Saturn, I might wind up with a newer car, instead. I am not a huge fan of the Ion, but last I checked, 4500<65,000 so I won't complain.
In between all of this, we need to try again to reach the landscaper to see if his bid is ready, do some grocery shopping and, if we have a few minutes, swing by home depot for some paint samples and a tomato plant.
If we get all of this done, we'll treat ourselves to Pop Shop tonight. It's trivia night, so the return of "One Good Knee Between Us" to the competition would be a good morale boost for us both.

My problem with shows like Bridezillas is that these women are perfectly aware that they're on camera, so they have carte blanche to behave far worse than they normally would. Therefore, these reality shows are not reality.

I understand that whole "heat of the argument" crap but, if somebody wants to break up with somebody, why do they have to be cruel about it? I know, human nature, but just say it's over and move on. Of course, we don't live in a perfect world, do we?

I am true Hillbilly. No question about it, the mother (the one who went out for smokes and never returned) was a pure, inbred, mother-loving, first cousin-marrying, card-carrying Hillbilly. To say their genetic pool was shallow was akin to saying Christmas comes in December. At least I am not a huge fan of Nascar, Monster-Truck rallies or pro wrestling, so I have been able to resist my baser instincts.
Hey, the Rotisserie thing was her idea, in the first place. She saw it on television and had to have one. Not my fault she never really used the thing.
Busy morning, Herself has the aforementioned doctor visits and other tortures of the Western World, plus gotta get her tires rotated (for some sick reason, that sounds kinky), do some grocery shopping (someone un-named left the milk out, overnight, for their bowl of Cap'n Crunch....ahem) and drag Katja out of her room and funk, for lunch and some spending of money that is not hers - for some unknown reason that seems to buoy her spirits. Boy gets out of school at 12:30, so we get to drag him along, also. He has already requested lunch at Chili's. If he is lucky, he will get Wendy's for lunch.

Currently sitting in the waiting room at the doctor. So far, 45 minutes behind, which is nothing for these guys. A problem that I should have seen coming: My car's battery is dead. So, jumper cables are waiting for our return.
The Easternmost in Quality...the Westernmost in Flavor!!In Torgy's defense, we have cooked some killer prime ribs in our Rotisserie. Set it, and Forget It!
Also, I have found myself watching Ice Road Truckers lately, though I have no idea why. Not much on Sunday nights. I'll probably get bored with it; heck, Orange County Choppers puts me to sleep, and I consider myself a biker. The conditions these people are working in are just incredible. Those temperatures do stuff to man and machines that they weren't really made to endure. Well, they do have a cutie on there this season.

Lisa is a hottie. Plus, I get a kick out of her lack of fear while driving some very nasty roads and I use roads in a very broad sense. Nothing more than a skinny, very long hockey rink, IMO. Mary said she thought she could do that and I got a pretty good laugh at that. This is the same woman who would call a taxi to take her to work when there was a heavy frost on the front lawn.
Gonna use the Rotisserie, again, tonight. Picked up some hot cajun links and they are soaking in beer, right now. Should be quite good by dinner. Got a mess of baked beans (going with Jay Bush's best, too much time spent doing it from scratch) going and picked up some jambalaya at the local Safeway (just have to warm it on the stove). Gonna have to open some windows tonight as the air could be quite bad. No lit matches tonight.

Pretty good morning, so far. Mary's early appointment was on time and it only took ten minutes. Just a Q&A session. She is relieved. We even got the shopping done fast and now are just killing time until the kid gets out of school and we can get lunch. Her Iron IV is at 2pm, but she says she doesn't need us to go with her. Looks like the rest of us will be hitting the various shopatoriums of downtown Concord. Frys, Sunvalley Mall and maybe a quick trip to Kinders to pick up some tri-tips for this weekend.
Still have to get the tires rotated, but someone was not up early enough to beat the morning rush at Les Schwabs'. We will try that again, tomorrow.
I'll play the radio on Southern stations because Southern Belles are Hell at night...No baseball - dodgers. And, no Lakers today. Bad sports day.

I need a break as badly as the players. And, would the Lakers just get it over in two more. Every time they win, it seems the Dodgers lose. Better yet, given that scenario, Orlando can just go ahead and win four straight.
