I'm starting this very early. I'm not going to be here tomorrow. I'll be in Tokyo and away from any computers. So, I leave you in charge, and let's keep this mojo going!

    Go Dodgers!

Why isn't DeWitt starting for Blake? Where's Manny? Etheir and Loney back to back? At least Kemp is hitting 6th.

  3.  # 4

DOMINANT 7 pitch first inning for Schmidt. Soon Ned will break J.P.s heart when the Jays beg for Schmidt even up for Halladay.

  4.  # 5

A double, single, and ground ball DP net the Fish a run in the 2nd.

SCHMIDT SUCKS - PUT HIM BACK ON THE DL, HE HAS ZIP.

Geez, what a freakin' waste of money and time. Thanks Ned, don't listen to Conte ever again.

I'll play the radio on Southern stations because Southern Belles are Hell at night...

Cry uncle, stick a fork in him and cut him.

Slappo reaches on an infield single.

I couldn't agree more on Schmidt. Yeah, he is a great story. BFD, let Plaschke whine some more and cut the waste of space. We are already on the hook for the money, why ruin the team's mojo in the process?

Good job, Slap. Please go join Doofy in Cincinnati.

TORRE, GET THIS POS OFF OF THE HILL. HE IS GONNA GET SOMEONE KILLED.

    Trivia answer - Walter Johnson.

Torre, its over. Take him out.

DONE. GOODBYE FOREVER - I HOPE.

I would be happier if XMan was healthy. Of course, I now miss Delwyn and I figure we will have to acquire another outfielder - hopefully it is Josh Willingham.

I pray this is the last time I see Schmidt in a Dodger uniform on the playing field. This was pathetic.

This should open up a spot on the 25 and 40 man roster.

I sure hope so, but knowing Neddie, he can't get rid of the garbage fast enough.

Get Ricciardi on speed dial, Ned. Piece of ScHmIdT is not the answer. He's a $47 million waste who couldn't break a window pane with his fastball.

This is also the second time in a row that the brilliant strategy of batting the pitcher eighth resulted in an rbi opportunity for the number eight hitter, who happened to be the pitcher. Batting the pitcher ninth was good enough for 100 years, but now overmanaging types like Torre and LaRussa think they have a brainstorm. He fluked into a Manny grand slam, but it won't ever happen again that way.

Now, that I think about it, it would be nice if the Fish left Cody Ross here when they leave.

I missed some of this early debacle, but did POS Schmidt ever break 85 with his "fast" ball. Did he ever throw a pitch that even resembled a decent breaking pitch?

I never liked that strategy unless the pitcher knew which end of the bat to hold. With someone like Owings or Marquis, that would be fine, but with a stiff like Schmidt, it blows as a strategy.

I think he hit 88 twice, both balls. I wish I understood the thinking that the clown could actually be an ML pitcher, again? He couldn't get out AAAA hitters with any consistency and because his ERA was under five, he warranted a shot over Charlie Haeger or Josh Lindblom? Just another example of Neddie's need to justify every one of his bad moves.

Yeah, it made sense when we had a pitcher like Drysdale or Newcombe, who was capable of hitting .275 and of hitting 7 home runs in a season. But, Schmidt has a career average of .139 and seven home runs in 14 seasons. Billingsley, other than that one home run, is a horrible pitcher, yet Torre batted him eighth.

Yes, but what difference did it make? He was clubbed. He needs to retire or completely reinvent himself and to do that probably needs at least a year in the minors.

Or Eric Stults, who has actually thrown a few good starts in MLB over the last three years. When was Schmidt's last good start? 2006 with the Giants.

    Stoner looks worse than Schmidt.

Well, might as well call it an early one. Torre threw out the Gibberish Jim lineup and added to that by running Jason Shit on the mound. Still plenty of time to hit the river and get some water skiing in.

Got in some water skiing before the wind got blowing hard. Sounds like we tried to make a game of it, but came up short - thanks Jason Shit.
