That would explain the second house they bought.

If Kennedy is right, this could be a sign that it will be business as usual at Elysian Park, this winter. I guess Steinberg didn't like his severance package, seeing as how it is likely he is the person dropping dime.

Sounds like the former dentist, Dr. Steinberg, has been doing some extra drilling, onshore, right in the back yard. I thought he was in his 40's, so this would paint Miss Jamie as quite the Cougar.

From what I saw and heard of Jamie in Vero Beach, Frank is the winner in all this, if he doesn't get destroyed financially.

The timing on all of this is ridiculous, but I can't see any of the players giving a flip one way or the other about this. It's pretty much just a gossip columnist's dream, but should not play in the sports pages (but it will.)

Whoa! Just saw a picture of the aformentioned Dr. Driller, and c'mon, Jamie, you could do a lot better than that. I mean for a lady up in years, you still have some nice physical attributes.

Steinberg is not particularly dynamic, either.

I met him at a bar a few months ago, and all he did was quietly watch the women, while licking his eyebrows.

Not that I would want to spend much time with Hot Lips - way too anorexic for my liking - but there has to be some man whore out there causing all this ruckus. I just think that Steinberg knows where all the bodies are laid, so to speak.

It appears that some serious ugliness is gonna come out in this divorce. Kissyface has a report that Frank feels he owns the Dodgers by himself (yeah, that will play in California, Slick!), while Hot Lips says she owns half. This could be problematic because if a judge sees it her way, she could end up with 3/4 of the Dodgers. I am sure this will be easy to prove and if what I remember about the original purchase is true, Hot Lips will be the majority owner of the Blue, shortly. I would suspect that Frank had even less chance of buying her out now, so it might behoove him to take the money and run, as it were.

The problem for the Dodgers will be this - if Hot Lips is the sole owner of the team, we could go from one underfunded owner to an owner who is less underfunded than Frank. Of course this can be alleviated if Hot Lips takes on a heavily funded partner in 51/49 ownership deal. Seeing as it is rumored that she is the bigger baseball fan than Frank, it might work out for the Blue for Size 0 to own the team.

She is the highest ranking female exec in baseball and I wouldn't be surprised if she wouldn't want to suffragette her way to the tippy top and run the team. This could take a while and considering how we are playing I foresee key extensions being made to Ng and Logan to keep things going. Gutting the front office won't make the team more attractive to partners. She is supposed to be a bigger fan than Ballpark Frank.

Meanwhile we have a game to win.

Let's not forget that it was Jamie who suggested that Dodger fans might prefer seeing money being spent on Little League fields rather than on the team's payroll.

Exactly, and that was during the whole Manny negotations. If given the choice between having Frank or Jamie owning the team, I take Frank. Jamie has appeared to be a total dolt since the moment she walked in. Not that Frank is a Rhodes Scholar himself, but the gaffes Jamie has made since she's been here, from the new baseball fields, to letting out that they planned to fire Evans, etc., etc... the thought of her owning the Dodgers scares the crap out of me.

Mike Scioscia's tragic illness - the blog! For Dodger analysis, reviews, and hilarity.

Sorry, but Charles Steinberg has to be one of the homeliest men I've ever seen in my life.

True, but she is has seemed to learn her lesson and found out it is better to keep your yapper shut when you don't know what you are talking about. Haven't heard a peep out of her since the Manny thing, last fall. Of course, there could've been something keeping her from yapping. During the same time frame, Frank has said less stupid things, also. Let's face it, this will not end well. I just have to hope that neither of them want to lower the value of their one asset.

When I think of Hot Lips being the owner, visions of Rachel Phelps flash through my head. That's why I need to take care of business.:badger:

Frank fired Jamie today. Things are just going to get nuttier from here. WHEN is this organization going to regain stability? I thought it was on its way.

So is the CEO position a figure head position or something that real decisions are made?
Although I'm think Frank will just promote his eldest Son to the position, this may be a great way to get back Orel into the organization.

Now that Manny is finally signed, lets get Pierre off the team

I don't believe there was any "romantic" relationship between Dr. Steinberg and Jaime. He just loves baseball. He did great things to enhance the fan experience at the game. He put together the last two pre-game ceremonies for Opening Day. Remember the first one that was done in the style of the movie "Field of Dreams" where the oldtimers were coming out from everywhere (center field, bullpens, dougouts. It was great and last year when the players were coming onto the field from the stands. I always saw him at all the WIN (Women Initiative Network) baseball clinics, (at Dodger Stadium and the one at Glendale this year), the 60's, 70's, 80's, luncheons, the RBI dinner and some road games.
At the last WIN baseball clinic he told me, "I heard you on Dodger Talk." I saw him a couple of times in the Top Deck during games, sitting in the last row, taking notes during the game and with his binoculors, The first time I saw him, I thought he was keeping score but the second time, he was definetly taking notes observing all around. Did you know that he wrote the song "That is when I fell in love with baseball" recorded by Marilyn McCoo. He had a cameo in the movie "Fever Pitch." I wish Dr. Steinberg well wherever he ends up.

As for for the McCourts, is sad that they are splitting up. i don't know how this battle for DodgerTown is going to endup but is not looking good.

There is only one Dodgertown, and it is in Florida.

When the McCourts get their pissing match going full speed, I hope it doesn't doom the franchise.

I know Sam, and believe me I Love Dodgertown in Vero Beach, but since they started calling it that at Dodger Stadium, with the slogan "this is my town, Dodgertown", I just used it. My younger friends at the stadium just hated it when I was in Glendale and I kept saying "In Vero Beach, we could go here and there..." so I just stopped. BUT I do love wearing my Dodgertown t-shirt from Vero Beach. Wish I would have bought another one.

The "inappropriate behavior with a direct subordinate" is the most interesting part and makes the Dentist departure perhaps all the more telling.

Man, what a letter! When you start accusing your wife of "insubordination" and "non-responsiveness" I think you are likely to become fodder for the late night TV comedians. Any possibility of double entendre in those descriptions?

Wow, this is gonna be better than any sitcom on television. Can't wait for Hot Lips' comeback. For all the talk of privacy and trying to keep this thing from being a show, it is looking more and more like a reality show for Fox.

I did not believe those on this board who speculated Jamie was playing around with Steinberg, instead believing it was probably Frankie who was straying from the vows. Isn't it almost always the guy first with the wandering eye? I figured Frank's new found celebrity went straight to his head or loins or both and he moved in to the fast lane of life in Hollywood. After reading the firing letter, though, it looks to me like I owe an apology to the proponents of the Jamie/Steinberg theory for doubting them. The line "inappropriate behavior with regard to a direct subordinate" sure sounds a little too strong to be used to describe normal wokplace interaction, to say the least. Plus could any husband possibly have the chutzpah to accuse his wife of those adjectives in the letter if he was the one causing the meltdown? I know the best defense is a good offense but Frank has convinced me he's the one who was wronged.

I'm laying in a large supply of popcorn for the winter.

This promises to much more fascinating than any baseball moves the Dodgers are going to make, since I don't believe they're going to do diddly on that front.
