Honestly, some of these umps are too old and not capable of calling a good game behind the plate.

I would also go with blind, stupid, corrupt and just downright pathetic to describe the majority of umps in this post season. Funny thing, Jim Wolf, a very good ump is nowhere near the post-season. Go figure. Is it because his brother plays for the Dodgers or is it something darker - like he is actually a good ump? I mean, he could do the AL games, couldn't he? Something is rotten in Bud Lite's office and it is usually sitting behind Bud's desk.

Is nothing sacred? Even Giant trolls know better. Another indication that Phillie fans will go the extra mile to be prize assholes. If, for some reason, we do not get to the series, I am really close to cheering for the Yankees. Hell, who am I kidding? I doubt I will watch one inning of that East Coast lovefest. I almost wonder if this is what Bud Lite wanted - an East Coast series? That might explain the poor umpiring and one-sided broadcasts. God forbid that those fine folks in NE don't get a team in the series.

If it turns out to be Yanks-Phils, my fervent hope is for an early winter and they are still trying to finish the mess in January.

Poor fella, he has no idea

I like that. Seeing Damon and Rollins playing the games in parkas and snowshoes would cheer me greatly.

    the ditchdigger:

let's begin, last night was a disaster
i barely slept and when i would come to, i would stay up for hours thinking about that pitch. the events leading up to it. the aftermath of retarded philly fans celebrating. Broxton is my fave, this makes it harder.
i'm fairly new to this site but check it/rely on it everyday. even if i don't comment, i read very often. profanity is barely used on here
last night was an exception, last night was a good night for profanity. from the horrible plate calls in the first few innings to broxton's misstep. it's passion. it's how we express when we are angry. it is by no means a definition of our character. how do you make a word powerful? you don't use it every other word. it was excited when i felt the energy from this thread last nite. it was like i was watching the game with some true fans. language or not, we were in this together.

i do have a question: who the hell are harpo and aarlan anyway?
do you even care for the dodgers? or do you just want to pop in at the most inappropriate time and kick us square in the chin when we're down? such a joke to announce your retirement from this thread as i don't think i've ever read anything from you ever. and if i did, it must not have been memorable or noble.

and you live in san diego? should you have your intelligence checked? that's as evil and brainless as a trillion curse words. i may have a potty mouth, but i'd gladly have one and live somewhere with more than an ounce of culture.

    still bleeding blue.

I requested to be off the board but I guess I have to be banned. I had to try once more just for ditchdigger.
First let me say that I read all the replys from Torgy, Matt, Mike, etc. I throwed it out there and I should be man enough to weather their come backs. Most made a lot of sense....still hate the trash talk though.
The one I feel I should answer is from ditchdigger who I have no animosity to. Who is Aarlan and have I ever posted anything of value?
No I have not. Just mostly a game thread things, although I have mouthed off like a loose cannon and hurt others feelings.
Here is who Aarlan is ditchdigger. I was adopted at an early age. College and then graduated from The Art Institure of Pittsburg. On to American Greeting Cards as an illustrator in Cleveland. From there to the Government to draw millitary manuels. I the joined the army because of the draft. I served in Korea and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal while there. I left the army as a Sgt.
I came home and took a job as a draftman for a coal mine drawing maps and drawing death scenes because flash bulbs would cause explosions due to the gas.Due to nightmares and nerves I opened a men's clothing store and later a grocery store. During that time I also taught art for free for the seniors in the three surrounding counties.
I sold my business's and bought a farm in southern Virginia and am retired. I am 69 and have been a diehard Dodger fan since 1954.
If you have any more questions about who I am then feel free to ask. Oh, I would love to hear what you have accomplished.
    Peace ditchdigger. Aarlan
