Seeing as how we have a couple "done deals" this afternoon - just hours after the Yanks won it all - it's time for this thread to run alongside the Hot Stove thread.

In addition to the two deals mentioned in the HS thread, count JJ Putz, Daniel Cabrera, and Chad Tracy among the 2010 class of free agents. per Kissyface.

KF also has Bobby Abreu resigning with the Angels for a 2 year deal with a vesting option for a 3rd. No cash announced.

    update: Heyman has it.

SI_JonHeyman abreu deal guarantees 19 mil over 2 with #angels, could be worth 27 mil for 3.

Twins acquire JJ Hardy from the Brewers for Carlos Gomez.

If you'll recall, he was the main piece when the Mets traded for Johan Santana.

Gomez has crazy raw skills and zero plate discpline. Very frustrating to watch.

Was that what it was? Do you think the Twins got the better end of this deal?

Brett Myers was told by the Phillies that they won't give him another contract according to Kissyface.

He was banged up all year, but does anyone think he could make a middle-of-the-rotation starter?

Another case of a multi-million dollar arm and a 10ยข head. Plus, he smacked his wife around a couple of years ago. I'd avoid Unibrow like the plague. Great stuff, but now he's damaged goods.

Always like Belch, wonder what type of coach he'll be?

Now that Manny is finally signed, lets get Pierre off the team

According to Dylan Hernandez, all of the Dodger coaches have been resigned to one year deals. One more year of Honeycutt ('nuf said), one more year of Bowa trying to break Bison's ankles and one more year of wondering when Joe will hang it up.

I was just at DT and Jay was calling you out (tho not by name) about Honeygoltz ...god just freaking call the wahhambulence Jay!

    Here's the quote:

Thank you again Mr. Weisman for being the voice of reason here. I have actually seen other sites that have stated "Rick Honeycutt has RUINED Chad Billingsley." And this was from someone claiming to be a Dodger fan. It blows me away how the first time a young player struggles a little bit, fans want to discard that player (see Loney, James; Martin, Russell; Broxton, Jonathan). Those same fans will have a fit if those players turn things around, and then don't show loyalty to the organization.

I don't mean to sound as if I'm belitting Dodger fans, because every sports team in every sport has these sort of fans. Dodger fans are no worse or better, but to think that Chad Billingsley should be shipped proves that you are either a BoSPiNite (someone who watches too much of the network commonly called ESPN) or you really don't understand the sport very well.

The story ends with me putting him in the wall!

I wonder how long it takes for Jay to wear out his welcome at DT? The Ancient Ursine has been pretty scarce, over there, since he got into it with the regulars at DT.

Good gracious. When he fell off the truck, it must've been near a very high cliff. I can't believe that's our same old Jay.

The Cubs resigned John Grabow for two years, $7.5 million. Any question why the Cubs have won nothing since 1908? Who in the Blue Hell pays a LOOGY over $3 million per year? Then again, what can you say about a team who gave Soriano $130+ million for his poor OPS and defensive skills or Gameboy over $10 million per with his health (mental and physical) history. It is little wonder the Cubs are the laughing stock of the game.

We're not the laughingstock of the game. We're gone far beyond that. Even people that don't follow sports are laughing at us.

Heilman still has pretty nasty stuff. He has been erratic lately, but I'm not happy to see him in our division.

We are more like a car crash on the Springer show. I think we could title the show - "My skank of a wife has taken up with the help!" I suspect we could get some nice fistfights out of that episode.
