Just discovered Chipotle here in Tucson as well. Best burrito I've ever had! Haven't braved the Waffle House yet - that's new to me, too.

We have a Chipotle here. Tried it once, but came away a bit unimpressed. Not enough heat for my bean, cheese and jalapeno burrito. They are much better than Del Taco, though. Talk about awful. The one thing I like about Chipotle is that it is next door to Wingstop and Wetzel Pretzels. I can park in front of there and go where I really want to be - let's just say they are not as busy as the other two places.

What you all need is a Taco Truck, with Asada, Pastor, Carnitas, limes, radishes, and hot @$$ salsa.

What EVERYONE needs is an In-N-Out Burger!

I think that's the place Oscar took me and my brother to when we visited LA. Is that the place where they make everything from scratch and it's all fresh?

If it's the same place, it's mmmmmmm good! Should have known Oscar would know where to eat. You could cut mine and his head off and switch bodies and nobody would ever know the difference, except he's got a little better tan.

In & Out Burger is a religous experience.

Oh I bet it is. :shamed:

These posts makes me so hungry. But, I just do not eat fast food. People it is not healthy for you. Back off and get your senses back in the amen corner. Eat healthy for goodness sake.
Now, someone tell me about the in and out burger again.

    Hahaha...

those aren't authentic Mexican foods. You want good food? Go down to Ensenada and have a fish taco.

    So unbelievably good.

Tommy's is only good with the chili on it. Too greasy for my tastes and without the chili, it's a pretty mediocre hamburger.

Oh yeah, gotta have the chili on it. And chili fries. And the peppers. And Coke, not Pepsi.

Excellent burger, Aarlan. Meat, huge slice of tomato, huge slice of onion, lettuce, the mystery topping (1000 Island dressing) and a bun, but completely fresh and a serious taste treat. The double double is a meal in itself.

The only thing lacking is the grease content. You can't wring out a thimbleful from the wrapper, but other than that, it is the king of fast food burgers.

Nah, Jeff, a picture of you would have moved it into a thread about people who are going to be disappointed in 8 days.

You mean that I'd be disappointed in Kentucky only beating Tennessee 77-3?

God bless the EMTs, Medics, Firefighters, and all other emergency responders

...warm...you forgot the part about it being warm....

I'm missing In-N-Out, Phillipes and Pinks, but also Wahoo's Fish Tacos, Claim Jumper (though now, with my WLS teensy stomach, I couldn't even finish one of their baked potatoes, let alone a prime rib) and Playa Castillo in Huntington Beach. Mimi's, for their French Onion Soup...sigh....

Figures FOOD would bring me in here...haha! Lots of great memories living down in SoCal as far as grub goes. Way too many places to list. Now residing where I am , the choices are fewer and far between. Growing up on the Westside, I was partial to a few of those feed bag places.

That said, some of my faves back then were:
Johnnie's Pastrami over on Sepulveda and Washington. Some of the best pastrami anywhere. Also served you fresh pickles for free once you sat down. Had personal juke boxes at every table.

Right around the corner(literally) was Tito's Tacos. My goodness! Awesome place. Lots more all over that area. A small joint near Marina Del Rey called Mago's.

Do any of youse guys remember those places over in Hollyweird and one on Pico and then one on Fairfax called Oki Dog? Man, they had this burrito with EVERYTHING in it! We named it the baby seal. They gave you a box of fries as an order. Their Oki Dog was in a burrito with 2 hot dogs, chili, pastrami (what else?), bacon. Man, what memories. And heartburn! lol

Then of course, Tommy's, Pink's, all kinds of cool little places downtown and in the valley.

Okay, that was good to cleanse myself of the good 'ol days.

Whenever I get down there, I am SO tempted to hit all the old spots. Alas, they are all now just distant memories.

    Stay thirsty, my friends!!

Been to the Claim Jumpers here, several times. Loved the Country Fried Steak, but the Meat Loaf is what I live for. Right next to it is a Fudruckers and a Tony Roma. A person could clog an artery eating in that area for over a week.

Tony Roma's went out of business here. Kinda surprised.

    There's actually a Fudd's in Voorhees, NJ.

I loved Claim Jumper. The obnoxious naming of the people on the waiting list. "Jesse James--party of 4...Jesse James...." Spare me. BUT, a fantastic salad bar, baked potatoes the size of footballs, steaks and prime rib big as a 1/4 cow. YUM.

    Tommy Burger.

They opened one down here about 2 years ago. I went a few times when it opened because I've missed Tommy's since I moved from ventura county, but I just dont' eat too much fast food so I haven't been there in a while. Still, this thread is killing me, I don't know why I keep reading it....I'm getting so damn hungry!

    How about Pink's in Hollywood?

If you guys are ever in San Diego, you've got to go to Phil's BBQ!!!! The best ribs you'll ever have in your life, I've brought my most judgemental food buddy who's from Fort Worth and he said they're hands down the best he's ever had. Tender as a baby, they just fall right off the bone, thick juicy meat and that light red tangy yet spicy sauce. Just a heads up, I bet Brookster knows about it.

Actually, James, a goodly portion of this board doesn't live anywhere near LA. I live in the Gint Hell - the San Francisco Bay Area, as does Beags. Kyle used to live in this area, but now he lives in Arizona (puke). KB lives in a log cabin in Nevada where his wife provides all the power by pedaling the bicycle generator. Aarlan lives in West Virginia, SamAdams lives in Vero, Toes and Greg live in South Jersey, Brendt (HA) lives in the suburbs of Bakersfield (poor bastid) and there are a few others I can remember, but a sizable amount of us are transplanted Dodger fans infecting the world.

As have I. Can't hit the fast food that often, but we seem to enjoy it more by only going once or twice a month instead of twenty days out of thirty. I like being able to see my feet and not have to guess if my fly is done up.
