Born in Gardena but we lived in Torrance. My dad was a construction worker and we wound up in San Diego County for about 5 years (La Mesa, Kearney Mesa, then Escondido.) When I was 9, my dad switched careers and started selling cars. We moved up to Encino for a year before settling in Orange County (first Fountain Valley for a year, then Huntington Beach.) We stayed there until I graduated from high school in 1974. We wound up in Escondido again, then after I got married the 1st time, made it back to OC until I moved (minus 1st wife and daughter, who both wound up in North Carolina) to Pennsylvania in 1993. I met toes on the internet in 1996. I moved to South Jersey a year later, when we married.
All goes well (and, of course, no reason to expect it would start now) and we'll sell this spring and move back to SoCal in 2008.

Yep that be me ...Pungent lol
I'll look forward to our battle. You seem to have a solid team. As for me, I lost a really tough one to Beags last week and Bashers and I are so close, it's ridiculous. But, I could lose several close categories and be in a mess.

We have a Chipotle here. Tried it once, but came away a bit unimpressed. Not enough heat for my bean, cheese and jalapeno burrito. They are much better than Del Taco, though. Talk about awful. The one thing I like about Chipotle is that it is next door to Wingstop and Wetzel Pretzels. I can park in front of there and go where I really want to be - let's just say they are not as busy as the other two places.
I think that's the place Oscar took me and my brother to when we visited LA. Is that the place where they make everything from scratch and it's all fresh?
If it's the same place, it's mmmmmmm good! Should have known Oscar would know where to eat. You could cut mine and his head off and switch bodies and nobody would ever know the difference, except he's got a little better tan.

Jay, may I ask where you live? I assumed since being a Dodger thread that everyone lived in the L.A area.
haha. But obviuosly not.
Ripley, Tenn. Last spring was the first time I ever made it to LA. It was a dream come true.
I'm without a doubt the biggest Dodger fan to have lived east of the Mississippi my entire life and in truth, I'm about as big a Dodger fan as you'll ever find.
I'm actually trying to get my car painted Dodger Blue with the license plates of the Dodgers. My friend put a flagpole and attached a huge blue Dodger flag in the back of his car that he and i swing back and forth whenever we go to Chavez Ravine.
I have a Dodger Blue Dodge Dakota. Folks round here no where I stand. But, it'd be nice if we came out on top one year, cause there are a lot of Cardinals fans round here that I really need to put in their collective places.
[cite] Aarlan:[/cite]
[cite] JamesMiranda:[/cite]Wow...we Dodger fans are all over aren't we?
I am from Virginia now but was born in West Virginia.
I am getting really pee'd at where this thread as gone FOOD and Fat Burgers and.......I haven't eaten at a fast food joint for 4 or 5 years. Yesterday I could stand it no more. I had a triple with fries and it was a buy one and get one free. So today I am going to try an "In and Out".
I put the other one "IN" the fridge yesterday and today I am going to take it "OUT".
Thanks everyone for the help in screwing up my diet.
Ahhh, another one bites the dus....check that, hamburger! You'll like it in Fatland Pops. Not much gets accomplished, but we all enjoy noon and 6 p.m.

"It is called being a professional. If you take the money, give the effort. If you are a pro in any sport, you are always supposed to give your best effort." ~Joe Morgan.Parents are both from Chicago, I grew up in Ventura County and moved to San Diego for college about 9 years ago. I've stayed here, moved from Pacific Beach up to Rancho Bernardo about 2 years ago. I make 3-4 games a year, but I watch nearly every damn inning on mlb extra innings, and I talk down any padres fans that I encounter.
im another one the unfortunate souls that live in Bakersfield.....oh well at least i get all the games lol
Your in california, friend. Should be at least an hour and a half drive down to L.A right? I haven't been to bakersfield in a loooooooong time.

Been stuck on the Grapevine more than once. Thank you, no. I will stick to the scenic route, either 101 through Santa Barbara or 33 through Taft. It may take longer, but I don't get to park behind a semi carrying hogs or sheep.

Better be careful going through Taft. They've got a second stoplight up now, so that may hinder your trip a little more than usual!
Yeah, 101 sometimes is a good route into LA. Sometimes...
I lived in LA until 1990, when we moved up to SLO county. I still cannot believe the traffic down there everytime my travels take me into the City of Angels.
I still have to get down to Torrance once in awhile, and I really have to psyche myself up for the trips.
I used to take Amtrak down there. But, with the 6 hour trip it takes to get to Union Station and the even longer trip it takes to get back, I'd rather brave the idjuts on the road and shave off close to half of that time driving. The train ride is scenic for the most part. But cheese whiz, it takes FOREVER!
Jae- funny you should mention Dodger Blue vehicles. I am trying to decide on whether my next one should be a Dodger Blue Toyota Tacoma, Camry, or Matrix.
Stay thirsty, my friends!!hagdag:grabarkewitz:Saxgod:JamesMiranda:Your in california, friend. Should be at least an hour and a half drive down to L.A right? I haven't been to bakersfield in a loooooooong time.

A second stoplight? The wonder of modern times hits Taft. The only good thing about I-5 is that from a little south of Redding until Sacramento and from a little south of Sacramento to the Grapevine, it land speed record racing. I have made it from Redding to Sacramento in a little less than an hour. Now, that's fun. You can't do that on 101, but who would want to. It is possible on 33, but being mostly two lanes the whole way to Ventura, you have to watch for other cars and tumbleweeds.
I'll play the radio on Southern stations because Southern Belles are Hell at night...Don't let Torgy fool you. He enjoys the 5 purely as an opportunity to drum up business. He can often be spotted pulling off to the shoulder behind car accidents passing out business cards.
It is either that or he enjoys the aroma of cow manure!

Sorry, Lars, but I drive I-5 with my windows up and the a/c on full blast in the winter. I've been past that lovely little dairy farm south of Anderson. The stench hangs with you all the way to Willows. In all the years I have driven down I-5, I have only seen accidents in the Sacramento area and the Grapevine. There were already a gaggle of lawyers already surrounded the possible litigants. I could do better business on 680 or 880 during rush hour.

And a K-mart
OK, someone has got to get the picture of Colletti and Lasorda that's on the LA Times site right now with today's story and post it in this thread. There are just too many funny angels to go with that.
And if someone posts that picture, can we just make fun of it because whatever we say will be funny? I agree with should show our GM respect and I agree our long-time manager did as much for this organization as anyone. But, in this thread, we just try to be funny. Can we be politically incorrect and just funny in one thread, please?
So, can someone please post the photo and then let the good times roll.

How do you think I'd look with one of those toopays?
