Sucks and Sucks Worse could also apply.

Ethier back in the starting lineup, so I guess his toe is better.  Still do NOT understand batting Carroll eighth. First, second, or seventh with this lineup would make more sense.

That Rockies lineup, similarly to the Dodgers, other than 3-4 doesn't exactly strike fear, either.  Their #3 is just better than ours.

I would say that Seth Smith is fifty times better than Loney and there are few players worse than Navarro.  At least our pitcher is better than theirs.    I would not be angry if Loney came up with a sore shoulder or something.   Oeltjen deserves to play every day, just to see if he can hack it or increase his value.   It is pretty obvious to anyone with a pulse that playing Loney, Navarro and even Miles does little for this team.   The smart money would be to look to 2012 and see if Sellers, Oeltjen, Ellis, etc... are ready or if the Blue need to look to acquire players to fill those roles.

Billz has a lifetime ERA in Coors Field of 8+.

Are they kidding?  Loney is actually being considered to pitch today if Billz can't go long.   Well, he can't be any worse than Girlier or MacDougal.  Given that Billz is a sure thing to barely make five innings at elevation, I am sure we will see Loney make his ML pitching debut, today.

Check Millwood's numbers, this year.   It could be another 20-18 game today.

Gotta make a lunch run.  Everyone is hungry around here, but I guess I am the only one who can drive.....

Vin quoting Mattingly as saying that Loney could be in the pen and Miles could be the backup catcher.

Good way for James to reinvent his sliding career.  He was an awesome high school pitcher, and most teams wanted to sign him as a pitcher.

    Aaron found his razor.

Of course, a smart move would be to DL both Blake and Barajas while calling up Ellis (or Fed Ex) and either Van Slyke or Mitchell.   Hell, DFA'ing Gene Velez would not be a bad move, either.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Kid looks more comfortable in the show, albeit a bad ending to a good at bat.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Yep, that is pure Andre.  Sellers sees six pitches and Andre is swinging from the heels as soon as he gets in the batter's box.   Incredible.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Billingsley's first pitch had plenty of the strike zone, but Navarro caught it with a sweeping stab and the ump called it a ball.  Can we just be rid of this lazy clown?
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Billz with a 54.00 ERA after three batters in Coors today
  • Vinsandlosses August 2011
Would be very nice if Navarro wasn't hitting before any real batters - perhaps nicer if he was just off the team.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Loney with a rbi double moving Rivera to third followed by:
    Navarro Strikes Out
    Carroll Lines Out to First
    Billz Grounds Out to Third.

Big time missed opportunity against Millwood.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
1-2-3 inning and Billz lowers his Coors ERA to 9.00 today.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Seth Smith making Rivera look like a Gold Glove.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Another 1-2-3 inning for Billz, to lower his Coors ERA for the day to 6.00.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Grabs must have gone to Sausalito to pick up lunch.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
JLo!  They should have him warm up in the pen before every game.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
...and then there's Navarro.  They should just keep him as a bullpen catcher.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Billz with a 1-2-3 inning to lower his Coors ERA for the day to 4.50.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
When did Ethier last have an extra base hit?  Any hit?
  • Are they kidding?  Loney is actually being considered to pitch today if Billz can't go long.   Well, he can't be any worse than Girlier or MacDougal.  Given that Billz is a sure thing to barely make five innings at elevation, I am sure we will see Loney make his ML pitching debut, today.

Maybe Loney will end up trying to be Ankiel in reverse before his career is done.
  • Billz getting squeezed!

  • And THAT was a strike?  I just got home, but who's behind the plate, and has he been that bad all day?
  • Dude, the ball hit the bat.  Glad to see they're getting together. But they get it wrong.  Amazing.
  • No harm, but still a foul.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
Navarro just stole a K from Billz with that attempted pickoff throw to first.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Finally able to log back on.   Only, 3-2....never would've figured such a low score.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
    Nicely turned by Sellers.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011

And THAT was a strike?  I just got home, but who's behind the plate, and has he been that bad all day?

Conroy, but Ted Barrett has the worst call of the day.   Millwood fouls a ball off and Barrett never saw it.   The man needs to have his eyes checked or get a better seeing-eye dog.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
4-6-3 DP from Cargo.  Sellers said something to Fowler after he tried to break up the dp.  No idea what.

Billz drops his Coors ERA today from 3.60 to 3.00.

I suffered a vitreous detachment Friday, and even with the floaters and flashes I can see better than this crew.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Billz still can't bunt to save his life.

I am pretty much blind in one eye and I know I can see better than Barrett.

    Happy Birthday, Kevin Millwood.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Giants tied in the bottom of the ninth, winning run on first for the Lastros.
  • SamAdamsSamAdams August 2011
    Look what I found!
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
I Felt a Small Boy walks Sanchez.  Runners on first and second with Altuve up.  Did I remember to say no outs?
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
    Altuve moves the runners over.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Sandoval saves the game for a second on Stewart's terrible throw.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
    Billz can't stand prosperity.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Nice pitch, Billz.  Serve it up, much?
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
    Bases loaded in Houston.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Martinez takes two straight pitches down the middle.  Two outs, bases still loaded.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz August 2011
Lee flies out, weakly to Rowand.   These are still the Lastros.
