Hey, the thought just hit me... anyone up for doing an NFL fantasy league? Perhaps the BBWC League? I know the season starts on Thursday, but what we could do is get 8-10 people up for it, do an auto draft on Tuesday/Wednesday and be ready by Thursday.
If I see some interest, let me know, and I'll start it up.

I basically pulled these settings from another league I was in last year (wasn't the commissioner). I'd actually like to get rid of the "everyone gets in" part, if possible.

Just fixed it. 4 team playoffs to take place between weeks 15-16.

O.K., I'll flip it back to 10 until tonight. But I do need the league to be set by midnight.
As a heads up to everyone, the draft will be tomorrow night (9-6-11) at 7 P.M., PST. I wish I could be more flexible, but with the season starting on Thursday, it's probably going to have to do. It will be an auto draft, but if you want to set your picks ahead of time, then you're more than welcome.

Thanks for the live draft, Matthew. I asked Herself if she would join our league, but she doesn't truck with leagues where money is not involved. I do one fantasy league a year, she is in six. She is only happy if she gets the Seahawk defense - probably explains why she never wins. -

I'm going to inform everyone up front, this will be my very first football league. I'm fairly accomplished in baseball leagues, but really know little or nothing about football players of this era. I haven't followed the league closely since Elway retired and my Broncos became irrelevant. :) I recognize most of the quarterback's names, but only a small handful of the rest of the names in the league.
I'm especially not familiar with the lingo and jargon. What is DST and IDP?

DST= Defense/ Special teams IDP= Individual defensive players.

I was in the same boat a couple years ago, since then i let auto draft do all the work and make sure injured ppl aren''t playing, so far i've gone the the playoffs every year and won the league 2 years ago. I havent tried baseball so i donno how they compare -

I know I'm late in making suggestions, so feel free to ignore me.My experience is long in fantasy football. That doesn't mean I'm any good, mind you. However, I have come to despise all the defensive player posistions personally. One is plenty, but we've got 4 individual positions (in addition to the overall DEF) to draft in this league, which seems like overkill. Would it be possible to just draft ONE defensive player?Also, 7 bench spots plus 10 offensive positions for 10 fantasy teams will make the waiver wire extremely thin (read: little to no activity at all).EDIT: I was gonna suggest eliminating the W/R/T flex spot, plus 1 or 2 bench spots.Just my two cents. And dagnit, I can't make the live draft, but that's cool. I haven't studied a ton this year, so maybe it's just as well.

With only a little over 7 hours before the draft, it might be too late to start talking about roster requirements. I'm sure people spent part of the weekend setting their autodraft lists / depth charts. It probably wouldn't be fair to change the roster requirements around at this point.

Could be true. But the changes I'm suggesting would have very late-round implications. They're back-of-the-draft type stuff. But like I said, just my opinion, and it may be too late and I'm cool with not changing things if it would do more harm than good at this point. -
Are we able to lock in the draft order before draft time (as soon as we get 10) so we know where we'll be picking?
