The Official 2011 NFL/NCAAF Thread (I Will Destroy You In Fantasy Football)
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz October 2011

I definitely agree with you on the 2011 Bradford issue.  Last year he was making quick throws and staying upright.  Not this year.

The rams are getting their butts whipped, but I still think the 'hawks and cardinals are just as weak this year.  I can see them splitting the their division schedule the rest of the way.  As for the niners - they have been overachieving and I see a return to earth for them.  The rams will play them at home on week 17.  Niners will likely have the division title sealed and play the backups.  The Rams won't be quite so lucky with the Steelers and Bengals in week 15 and 16, but I do think they have a shot at beating the Browns in Cleveland.

We should revisit this in a few weeks.  If they lose at home vs. the seahawks in week 11, I will concede that I was all wrong about this team (that's as winnable a game as there is).

I figured they would win six to eight games this season, but Saffold has become a revolving door and Jackson is looking older and slower than he ever has looked.  Plus, the run defense is a joke.  Laurinaitis is getting destroyed by offensive linemen because the DT's are doing absolutely nothing to keep them off of him.   I don't even want to get into Popinga and Leber, both of those guys look to be stealing money.   Trading up to get Nick Fairley would've been the smart move in the draft, but Devaney wasn't interested.   I mean, I like Quinn, but he is pretty damn raw and not addressing the wide receiver issue until the fourth round was a huge joke.   Mind you, they will have a shot at Alshon Jeffrey or Justin Blackmon this year, but they may also need to address the linebacker and defensive tackle issue.

I have to think that they are still a year or two away from being a playoff contender.   Bad FA signings like Sims-Walker, Dahl, Popinga and Leber don't help either.

I lost by one point.  All I needed was for Dallas Clark to catch one freakin' pass.  Oy.

Complete shutdown by the Saints on the Colts. I feel bad for them.
  • GenericFan October 2011

I need Ray Rice to score 13 points.  I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm really regretting not checking my roster last week.  Had I subbed Tolbert in for the injured Hillis, I'd be feeling a lot better.

How the hell does one of the best backs in the game only get 8 frickin carries???

Did you see the game? I wasn't able to watch it but man, at least from what I saw it seemed like a very boring game.

Harbaugh got real stupid it would appear.   If I am the coach, Rice gets 25 carries before I even worry about Flacco throwing the ball.

Anyone need a tight end?  Jason Witten could be available.  I'm looking for a solid RB or WR.

I would be willing to move Jackie Battle in such a deal. I also have Pierre Thomas available also and he is up against the sievelike defense of the Rams

Problem is, both of those guys are stuck in a platoon situation that goes 3 players deep.  I'm looking for someone who gets the bulk of the looks at his position.

I know I am going to hate this trade, but how about Torain for Witten?
  • GenericFan October 2011

Torain's stock went up when Hightower blew out his knee, but he still has to fight off Helu for carries.  I'd have to see what Shanahan does this week before I felt comfortable putting him in the lineup.

I'm kind of thinking bigger.   I'll drop you a note.  :)

  • jamesmir11jamesmir11 October 2011
    Ahmad Bradshaw?
  • jamesmir11jamesmir11 October 2011
I've also got Tony Gonzalez on the trading block, as well as Ahmad Bradshaw.
  • GenericFan October 2011
Did you get my e-mail Grabs?
  • GenericFan October 2011
Also, Rancheros, check your trade offers...
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz October 2011

Did you get my e-mail Grabs?

Yeah, my e-mail at yahoo is for toast.  I got on there today and had over a 1,100 messages.  Seems one of my wonderful kids used my e-mail for one of her favorites.   Plus, yesterday was me and the Brazilian's anniversary and seeing as how she was still running a fever yesterday, today was our drive to San Francisco and watch her spend the dividend.   I got a new leather jacket and an old school pair of Adidas.  She got nearly a whole new wardrobe, so I guess it is even.

As for moving Wallace, that is a no go.  He is my only sure thing.  I would consider Johnson, but I have this feeling that he will break out this week against the Colts.  The kid suggested packaging both Torain and Nate Washington, but I have a feeling that won't do it either.   Just have to hope that Fred Davis continues to have decent weeks from here on.

Flex play in a non-PPR league: Maurice Morris or Percy Harvin?

I BADLY, BADLY want this game.

Wow, this is a great game.  I want Stanford to win, but it will be a great win for both of the teams.
  • thebrazilianthebrazilian October 2011
My fantasy team is really in trouble.  Andre Johnson and Peyton Hillis are both hurt and Steven Jackson sucks.  I have lost my last two games and I need a big win tomorrow or I am out of the money.
  • thebrazilianthebrazilian October 2011
That was kind of dumb.  Would he have been down if he fell down?  I thought Usc had a time out left.
  • MatthewMatthew October 2011
Did you just decide to go to sleep right now, SC?!

You sound like Chris. I hated to see someone lose that game.  It was the most fun I have had watching a football game in years.
  • thebrazilianthebrazilian October 2011
I feel really sorry for that little guy on the Trojans.  He had such a good game and then fumbles at the end.

Sure, I will Fed Ex the beasts to you....wait a sec.  I gotta find the beasts, Price just threw an interception and Arizona is back in the game.
  • grabarkewitzgrabarkewitz October 2011
Well, I am pissed.  Tie game.  Cats best be scarce now.

Freakin' Rams!   Just when I could count on the team doing the right thing and dumping the rest of the season, they show a pulse and break into the win column.  I guess that number three pick will have to do.

Just like last year when the Rams had a real shot at Julio Jones and AJ Green.  I hope they do not play so well to lose out on Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd.

I think they will.  I had the Rams winning 3-4 games down the stretch.  I, however, did not have them winning yesterday.  What a shocker.

I would be happy with either Floyd or Jeffery as our first pick, if it comes to that, but I have to think that we will need a shutdown cornerback more.   Gotta remember, Spags loves defensive players.

It had to happen against the Saints too.

Grabs, Johnson is a total bust.  Sorry about that.  My Andre Johnson is as well, for different reasons.  Sorry your had such a rough week against me.  It's not nearly as much fun competing when one's opponent's players take a dump all in the same week.

Yep, both Romo and Johnson killed me.  It was just a bad week for me.  Wallace, Nicks and Torain barely showed up.   I am tempted to run Palmer out there next week on the hope that last week was not a sign of things to come.

Quit your bellyaching.  Johnson has been 30% more productive than Hillis this year.   I should have known better than to draft a white dude as my running back.  :)

True, but I wasted the number one pick on the goof.

Tim Tebow had a bad game, but man, I don't think he deserves to be destroyed the way he is being by the media. The guy is trying to be a righteous and pious Christian and he's being made fun of. I feel bad for the guy.

I kind of figured the jackals would be after the man the first bad game he had.   Funny how they give Roethlisberger all these breaks for his shortcomings, but leap on Tebow over his faith.

Exactly. I tweeted some words of encouragement to him, hopefully he reads them. I believe he'll be a good QB, but something that's been lost in today's game is patience. Or so it seems.

Hey Kyle.  There is a trade proposal waiting for you. :)
  • BluePastorKyleBluePastorKyle November 2011
Just saw that, David.  I really don't have a need for any of those players you mention.  With Gates back healthy, the big piece (Witten) isn't as attractive to me as he may be to others.  And Andre Johnson looks like he might finally get the start this week, too. :)
  • GenericFan November 2011

    okie doke.

  • BluePastorKyleBluePastorKyle November 2011
Anybody interested in Matthew Stafford?  He's the 4th best fantasy QB in the league, but I happen to have Cam Newton.  Both are on a bye this week, so no rush.  I'm looking for a stud WR (as Andre J is still touch-and-go for now) or RB.  Make me an offer!
  • jamesmir11jamesmir11 November 2011
Who's on your trading block? Just Newton and Stafford?
  • BluePastorKyleBluePastorKyle November 2011
I'll update that now.  But a quick answer would be that I would include the Lyons Defense (#2 in the league), DeSean Jackson, Jordy Nelson, Malcolm Floyd, Dallas Clark, Beanie Wells, and DeMarco Murray on the block.  Any of those in a package can be had for the right players back.

Howdy, Stranger!
