In light of the Times article, wherein James Loney attributes his bizarre actions (following his best demolition derby impersonation) to head trauma; outgoing owner Frank McCourt is now claiming that his entire bizarre tenure as "owner" of the Dodgers is the result of a blow to the head he suffered when his (former) wife Jamie hit him when he first suggested "buying" the team with his measly parking lot assets...!

    It's Jamie's fault...!

Well of COURSE it's her fault! How often have we seen men do really stupid things when under the influence of their wives?

So true.   The first wife, may she get some painful skin disease, made sure we bought a huge house before she filed for divorce.   Not my most shining moment.   But, I had the last laugh when she had to sell the house because of her spendthrift ways.   Wait, I paid for the house and she sold it for fifty cents on the dollar.....yep, still feel stupid.

Hey Torgy, I have an ex-wife who became a lesbian, so don't feel bad. Actually, it was a very good thing indeed.

She apparently watched way too much Ellen... mine, chose to watch Oprah (whether or not she's lesbian, I can't say... either way, she just hates men)...!  Until I married my lovely Latin Ex, I didn't think it was possible to be blamed for inclement weather...

The unwanted rain... that was my fault.

    Speaking of Hot Stove...

From what I hear, Jamie's available... and $130,000,000 richer too!

The Ex was known to violate the monogamy thing but I doubt she was interested in the same team. Too bad, I might've stuck it out.

ANNOUNCEMENT:  Dodger pitchers and catchers report in one week.  As we have done, every year, this Hot Stove Thread will be closed and sunk on that day, to be replaced by the 2012 Spendodger Memorial Spring Training Thread.

It appears there isn't much in the way of ongoing conversations running in here, but I ask that any that are happening please be wrapped up by the morning of February 21st, as this thread will be over and SPRING TRAINING will be HERE!

(And, just because I'm an old wind/gas bag, I will repeat this reminder a couple of times before we close for the winter.)

Yep, looks like our off-season is done, anyway.  Ned dazzled his boss with plenty of backloaded contracts while making the team even worse.   Probably will be business as usual until the end of April.

If business as usual means hoping the door indeed smacks McDork and Ned on the way out, it's all good.

Before this thread closes and before pitchers, catchers, and Matt Treanor report, here is a web site worth a visit in the meantime.  It is Dodgers' photographer Jon SooHoo's own web site and their are some awesome and historic shots to be seen.  Give it a look.

On Hot Stove Live, Jerry Hairston Jr. said his all time favorite play by play announcer was Ken "Hawk" Harrelson.
    I hate him already.

He was foolish enough to actually pick the Dodgers to win the West (or, alternately, the WC)... idiot, indeed!  At least he proved to be rather adept behind the microphone, interviewing, among others, Dodger newbie Mark Ellis... getting ready for his daily role once he goes on the disabled list...

They say it's always darkest before the light...

Per MLBTR, Brett Tomko signed a minor league deal with the Reds.  Tomko pitched in AAA last year in the Rangers system and briefly with Texas.

    OCMike, are you there?

Tomko has been pitching 'briefly' for years...

NEXT TO LAST REMINDER:  This thread will close tomorrow night, to be replaced by the Spendodger Memorial!  Doesn't look like there are any ongoing conversations in here, but if there are, wrap it up tomorrow!

(I'll remind once more, tomorrow morning).

End is in sight (in more ways than one!)
