BLUEFAN:I agree with you in regards to #2 hitter as his OBP is pretty decent
In his 1.5 years in the minors, his cumulative stats are ....
PA - 715
AB - 649
HT - 195
BB - 060
SO - 096
BA -.301
OB -.362
SB - 028
CS - 023Any idea how he fares defensively at each position?
The last report I read about his glove from Bill Shelley (may he rest in peace) was that he has a very strong arm and good flyball awareness (?), but his routes need work and he has a tendency to play too deep. As an infielder, he has a nice quick release and good range, but gets bad jumps and his glove has a bit of a aluminum in it. I think he has some future as a rightfielder, but he will have to develop some more pop before I see the Blue leaving him out there.
The stolen base thing is a bid bugaboo for me. A top of the lineup hitter like Hunt should be stealing bases at a 75% or higher level. Spending time with Maury Wills should be Job One for this kid, this spring.

I like Hunt's hustle and intangibles, but he plateaued at Inland Empire, last season. He will need to show some improvement in his obp to keep up with the Rosarios and Kanaby's of the world. The fact that he can play all three outfield positions along with second and third base gives him much value, but he isn't showing the pop he had in college and his stolen base numbers are scary bad. Still, he could be a surprise kind of guy this year.
Reminds me of Jason Romano. Hopefully the result is better.
