  • Happy Birthday, Jeff. I was kind of hoping no one would remember. Now, I am the same age as Blaster....egads! Still have ten minutes until the fateful moment....nine minutes.

Happy birthday Torgy, hopefully the Brazilian gives you something extra special wearing something extra skimpy.
  • What's it with these July birthdays... Intelligent, witty guys' at that...! In a mere four days, I will join the hit parade (July 30, for those that may care... Who am I kidding, no one cares, but I'm just attempting to appear needed & wanted!).

Anyway, happy birthday Chris and Jeff... May you find whatever you seek (In your case Chris, since you already have the Brasilian, you get to help the rest of us who aren't yet so fortunate!).

Thanks, Mike, 52 feels just like 51. Aching, stiff, somewhat confused and I have this urge to yell at some kids to get off the front lawn. Also seem to have a fondness for striped pants, white shoes and a green polo shirt as my attire. I wonder what time the early bird special is at Chili's for us fossils.

Actually, I am just hoping that the household forgets the whole thing. I would like to start something like the Brazilian does, she is getting ready to celebrate the eleventh anniversary of her 29th birthday in February - I am gonna call this the twelfth anniversary of my fortieth birthday - yeah, that's the ticket.

    Happy Birfday, you guys!

May you live to be a hundred years,
With one extra year to repent!

I had to laugh at the yelling at the kids comment. We live on a corner lot, and kids tend to cut the corner thru our yard. A couple weeks ago, I started yelling at these kids to get out of my yard, and then I started breaking up, realizing I had become old Mr. Scott from the neighborhood I grew up in. The kids all thought I was nuts, but they haven't cut thru my yard since.

I agree on the kids' thing, but look at it from KB's perspective, he has been yelling at kids for nearly two millennium - I am sure he started the tradition with something like this, "Get thee away from thine verdant field or thine will willst lash thou to within a cubit of thee's life. Of course, it would likely be in Latin or some other dead language.
  • Happy birthday you two!

Those were tough times. Walking uphill to and from school for six miles through a driving snowstorm, but first had to get up at 4am to feed the Velociraptors and the family Brontosaurus, sweep out the cave, shave with a sharpened stone and then eat some cold gravel for breakfast. And be happy I was getting cold gravel, after school, I would clean the lake, work for tuppence a month, 27 hours a day, nine days a week, cleaning Bronto leavings and when I got home, my dad would cut me clean in half. Good times, good times.

Happy Birthday Torgy, you old coot!

    Do something fun for yourself.
  • Jeff726 July 2008
Thanks for the wishes on my 28th alongside Torgy's 29th (w/23 years experience). I just wanted to honor someone whom I respect on this forum, even if he secretly plans to send Vinny and Guido to my house for reminding everyone. ;) :)

Jeff, I didn't know it was your birthday too. Happy Birthday! You lucky dog you.
    (Oh to be 28 again.)
  • Happy Bday to you guys, now spend your birthday winnings on a hitman to get us a real GM in LA.
  • bob007hh July 2008
Sorry Jeff, didn't realize it was your birthday too. Hope you have a great 28th.
  • Happy Bday boys... er.... boy and old dude.

I have this image of striped pants, white shoes, green polo shirt, bald head, missing tooth, a white glove and a crunching sound whenever you walk. That and Mary standing next to you saying, "wanna see somethin'?"
  • Happy bday, Torgy. Try not to read any Dodger transactions today.

Old dude? Old dude? I have you know I am still some 2,675 years younger than KB. Give or take a century here.

For the next two months, you are a DOZEN years older than me. Old dude. KB is Old fart. I'm told there's a difference.

KB is a dusty old fart. Dozen years, thanks, Kyle. Mary also reminded me that until February I am thirteen years older than her. See why I love her.

Thanks to Colletti, my excellent birthday breakfast was not appreciated for the work that was put in to it. Anthony and Paula make cinnamon rolls from scratch and they were outstanding. Even got one with the biggest candle I have ever seen on it. The candle just said, "Older than Dirt". Already got one gift, Katja and Drake found a walker, shined it up and put a nice bow on it. Someone is getting rocks for Halloween.

  • Happy B-day torgy and Jeff !!

Much appreciated, Matthew. I am still waiting for dinner. Maybe I should've ordered a pizza. Got a decent haul of gifts sitting in the living room. The way things are going, I might get to open them, tomorrow.
  • Happy B-Day Torgy ...Hope you enjoyed your day (not counting the Casey Blake trade), I know you got your present a couple days early w/ your son's relative clean bill of health after his injury (please know that I send my best wishes to your family, your posts are always a treat to read and I enjoy the daily updates of the Torgy family. It would make for a great TV show). Heres hoping you get to celebrate more anniversaries of your 40th B-Day.

Thanks, Tony. Just got back from church, brunch and the daily putt on the motorcycle. Always love to show up at church on the Harley, gives the rest of the parishioners something to think about. Hopefully, the Blue can make it a sweep and we can call this a perfect weekend, minus some small things.

Happy Birthday to the both of you!
  • Thanks, all. After feeling very old on Saturday, I am feeling better about my rapid race to reach my geezerhood. Of course, the Brazilian makes sure to mention that I am now a true fossil. Can't wait til February when I can give her a hard time about her 40th birthday. Knowing her, she will likely hide out in the bedroom for a day and hope that no one notices it is her birthday.
