MLB Network

Though I'd never admit it to Becky, the reason I finally dumped Time-Warner was because it would have involved another service upgrade to get MLBN. So now we have Verizon FIOS, and I get my baseball fix like Sam says, without having to wade through all those other little games.

I wanted to add, I probably wouldn't have given a rat's patootie about the WBC if not for MLBN.

As sickening as Vasgerian was as a Padres play-by-play shill, he does a good job on MLBN. In fact, overall I am very impressed by the network. Just having a channel where you can catch some kind of baseball 24/7 is something I've always dreamed of. No wading through college hoops, the NBA, ice hockey, and other lesser sports, just pure 100% red, white, and BLUE baseball.

I've seen the September 2006 four consectutive home run game, Gibson's home run a dozen times, and other great Dodgers highlights. Hey, I even like Harold Reynolds, and Hazel Mae is definitely easy on the eyes. Have you seen some of her spring training interviews and those outfits?

Anyway, just weighing in with two thumbs up for MLBN. Always on Channel 213 on DirecTV, THE place for baseball.

Hazel Mae is some kind of eye candy. Plus, for being a NESN type, she doesn't see the need to become Red Sox 24/7 like so many of the former NESN types. They do have some idiots who can't speak, but for the most part I like listening to Mitch Williams and Joe Magrane, they have half a clue. Leiter needs to shut up and face the camera and I still think that Harold Reynolds could easily be Joe Morgan if he added some sanctimony to his delivery.

I give them credit for regularly popping HR's bubble and keeping him on this side of egomania. I love the network, see the potential for greatness. AND, perhaps more important, I see them really trying to reach that potential. I watch MLBN almost all day.

I find Trenni Kusnierek is much more easier on the eyes than Hazel Mae, although Mae knows baseball better.

Didn't Harold Reynolds get canned by ESPN for some sexual harassment charge? Wonder how he can handle being around Hazel Mae. (She sure doesn't look like a Hazel.)

I think that's what ESPN said at first, but HR threaten to sue ESPN for saying that and they retracted into saying something about "philosophical differences". Basically he bad mouthed the Yankees and Red Sox too much.

I think it is supposed to be on after one of the WBC games, tomorrow, so it might not start on time. I am just going to be safe and record each of Dodgers' 30 in 30.

MLB network had the Dodger game on their schedule last night and when I got home from work. I set the autotune and Giants and As this sucks.

Didn't matter, here. A's - Gint tilt was blacked out, if I wanted to watch that game, I would have to flip the Comcast Sports California to see it and listen to Krukow and Kuip - too early in the season to spit friskies.

Only had one complaint with MLB.tv, froze up during Belisario's second inning.

A slightly uncomfortable moment on mlb tonight

I gotta believe Vasgersian is about one strike away from being canned. The man has a knack for being slick in front of the camera, but let's just say I'm fairly certain he's about as intelligent as a bag of rocks. I'm guessing most people who know him on a personal level are baffled on a daily basis as to how retains employment at such a high level.

Seriously? What would possess a man to honestly believe - even for a second (or long enough to ask the tech crew to pull up the video again to check to see if he was right) - that Donovan McNabb would masquerade as an EMT in Denver? That's just crazy stupid. Amazing.

A year of watching the 2008 San Diego Padres in action would dull anyone's senses.

Ouch. Well, my take has been that Vasgersian has thought of himself as the key to the network. Fact is, the host is almost unimportant. Guys like Magrane, Mitchiepoo, Leiter, Larkin and Plesac--hell, even Harold Reynolds--are the driving force on MLB Tonight. And I think Vasgersian is going to find that out pretty quickly. He's the same guy who dropped the "F" bomb earlier this year.

I notice he isn't hosting tonight.
