    Really, REALLY need a good start from Kershaw here, not just because of Peavy but also to save the bullpen after last night.

    Hate seeing Pierre in there for the second time in three days, but Ethier hasn't had a night off all season, so I get it. Besides, not that anyone has success against Peavy, Ethier's probably not too upset to be missing him - career 5 singles in 36 plate appearances.

    I just think it's hilarious he only does it when Pierre is in the lineup.

    Also, say what you want about Torre (I know I take my liberties when appropriate), but as far as knowing when to sit his regulars, he seems to be doing a fine job this season. IIRC, when Manny, Kemp, Loney and Raffy all got their days off, it was either against a solid ace from the same side, or someone who the hitter was awful against in his career. Same is true with Ethier tonight.
